Connecticut River Museum

The Connecticut River Museum celebrates the history of through stories, art, and other artifacts.  Its mission on preserving the area’s history and sharing opportunities for hands-on exploration of the land and sea, makes the museum an excellent place for project-based learning.

The Connecticut River Museum offers a variety of ways for classrooms to explore the Connecticut River Valley’s rich history.  Classrooms can arrange an on-site field trip to the riverfront museum in Essex, Conn., or the Bushnell Farm in Old Saybrook, Conn.  There are also options for museum staff to bring the museum’s education program to your classroom or school.  For many years, the wonderful Connecticut River Museum staff have been bringing hands-on learning demonstrations and professional development directly to our Summer Teachers’ Workshop.
