Summer Teacher Workshop - June 25 - 29, 2018

Who: Connecticut public, parochial, and independent school teachers, pre-school to grade 6

What: This free workshop brings teachers together for a week of collaboration, camaraderie, renewed passion, and an exploration of integrated, project-based STEAM curriculums with the help of local expertise, resources, and knowledgeable mentors.

Why: STEAM programs focus on inquiry-based, hands-on curriculums that more closely align with what students will experience in later life. STEAM education encourages creative problem solving and captures students’ natural curiosity and thus enhances student engagement.

  • Learn strategies to integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics and other disciplines into real-world applications with field experts as mentors.
  • Explore New Haven and develop assessable, innovative STEAM curriculums that meet state and national standards. 
  • Forge ongoing relationships with colleagues and mentors, as well as community connections.
  • Leave with tools to support them throughout their careers.
